Michele Jurado

Michele creates a beautiful collection of hand painted ceramic dinner and servingware from her studio in Florence, MA. She grew up in The Bay area, studied painting at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and later moved to Massachusetts, where she earned a degree from Smith College in Architecture and Urbanism. While working in a studio that produced handmade, hand painted tiles Michele's love for painting on ceramic forms began. After creating her first platters as a gift for a holiday party, she then began designing her personal line of hand painted dinner and servingware. Her pieces are all hand slip casted and hand glazed in her studio. Her colorful palette is influenced by her Swedish and Mexican heritage. Upholstery fabric and piping serve as the inspiration for her patterns and her signature black and white striped edging.
