Title: ZP1, (2004)
The zona pellucida is a thick layer of glycoprotein thet envelopes eggs when ovulated. The zona pellucida is important in species-specific fertilization, post-fertilization blockage and protection.
The concept of ZP.1 (Zona Pellucida 1) is based on the randomness of biological processes.
"Tepez evokes biological and social statements through this poetic multimediawork. Using a mix of a pool-operation table, allowing the expectator to control a video projection by moving a ball on the table, allowing the expectator to control a video projection by moving a ball on the table. Changing the shape of the "pool table", the artist adds the concept of randomness.
Short biography:
Born in Mexico City where he completed his education in Visual Communication at the National Academy of Arts. Graduated in Fine Art and Digital Media at Valand School of Fine Arts in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2004. Tepez works and experiment mainly with interactive installations and video projections.
